The patient support program (PSP) market has grown rapidly in Taiwan over recent years. Looking back from 2026, the nature of PSP has fundamentally changed. It is no longer merely 'patient care services' — reminders, education follow-up or a call center — but the watershed into the era of value-based care.

High-risk patients, complex regimens and psychological support remain the deep work of professional nurses and case management teams. This is not just efficiency — it is care model redesign. Taiwan's next PSP stage is not in the hospital but in the patient's home
Taiwan enjoys a highly accessible NHI system, but faces aging, chronic-disease burden and workforce pressure. The most important direction for PSP is the move from hospital-based support to home-based continuous care.
Especially in oncology and specialty medication, the real challenges patients face are rarely in the consulting room — they come after going home:
- Side-effect management
- Regimen adherence
- Caregiver strain
- Emotional and anxiety support
- Remote monitoring of physiological data
